Domestic and international natural gas transmission

According to G.D. no. 334/2000 and to the Articles of Incorporation, updated, TRANSGAZ aims to fulfill the national strategy established for domestic and international natural gas transmission, natural gas dispatching and research – design in the field of natural gas transmission, by making the relevant commerce documents related to its object of activity, in compliance with the national legislation,.

The main object of activity of TRANSGAZ – 4950 CAEN code  - "Gas transmission through pipelines" - an activity defined by law as being the activity organized for circulating the natural gas through the National Gas Transmission System (NTS) or through other gas transmission systems. Also, complementary TRANSGAZ carries out other related/secondary activities to support the main object of activity in accordance with the applicable legislation and with the updated Articles of Incorporation.

In accordance with the regulatory framework applicable to the natural gas sector, TRANSGAZ carries out the natural gas transmission activity based on the sector specific legislation, the Concession Agreement concluded with the National Agency for Mineral Resources, approved by G.D. no. 668/2002, with its subsequent amendments and completions, and the License no.1933/ 20.12.2013 for operating the natural gas transmission system issued by the National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE), valid until 08/07/2032, the associated validity conditions.

The gas transmission activity is a public service of national interest being included in the regulated segment of the domestic gas market. The gas transmission service is provided in a natural monopoly regime based on a tariff set by the National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE).

The supply contracts for natural gas transmission service are, usually, concluded for one gas year period, based on the framework contract, annex to the network code for the National Gas Transmission System, approved by ANRE’ President Order No. 16/27 March 2013, with its subsequent amendments and completions.
